    Winemaker's Notes:

    Color: Crimson red.

Nose: Delicious, complex hints of plum, cherry, blackberry and truffle.

Palate: Rich and concentrated with layers of juicy plum, black currant and coffee nuances. A gorgeous, medium-bodied wine that finishes with polished tannins allowing the ripe fruit flavors to show through.

Food Pairing: Grilled meats, leg of lamb, spare ribs and hard cheeses such as Parmigiano and Romano.

I've always found Lyeth wines to offer very good value. I got this on sale dirt cheap, but it is well worth the full asking price. You're grilling on a Tuesday and don't want to open that $35 bottle? This wine will not let you down. It can stand up to hearty grilled fare, but it's medium bodied and lush enough in the mouth to please people who don't like "big" red wines. Four stars for the price-value ratio.
