    Winemaker's Notes:

Amalaya is bright ruby colored and dense. Very fruity nose, with aromas of red cherries, raspberries and spices; fresh palate, and finish with soft and round tannins. To be enjoyed now or in 2 to 3 years.

    Critical Acclaim:

Good bright red. Sexy aromas of red berries, coffee, mocha, game, smoky minerals, spices and molasses. Supple, lush and gentle, with an almost syrupy character to the musky red berry and mocha flavors. This relies for structure on its solid acidity as much as on its soft tannins. An easy-drinking wine with sneaky persistence and plenty of personality, probably best for near-term consumption.

    International Wine Cellar

This blends malbec (75 percent) with cabernet sauvignon, tannat and syrah. Vibrant acidity moderates its sweet, seductive flavors, the wine lasting on ripe strawberry notes.

Good middle of the road between wines that have character and wines that do not. Is soft yet has some meat to it. I love to take to it to people who are just learning about fine wines but aren't quite there yet.
