    Winemaker's Notes:

Pinot Noir Jadot is a pure varietal wine produced from Pinot Noir musts and wines selected from village-level vineyard sites throughout the Côte d'Or and Côte Chalonnaise. As with several of their smaller wines, Maison Louis Jadot practices a "réplis" to improve the quality of the wine by declassifying some wines of higher appellation to be incorporated into the blend. The final lots are carefully chosen, and, depending on the vintage, aged for a number of months in oak casks to evoke the clean, ripe red berry flavors and earthiness of the grape mellowed by a subtle touch of wood. Reflective of the Jadot style, Pinot Noir Jadot is harmonious and balanced, with a plump fruitiness and silky texture offset by round, gentle tannins in a wine of medium body and elegant structure. The very typical, fragrant varietal bouquet is complemented by a delicious, lingering finish.

Great entry level burgundy. Delicious and light, easy to drink. I like this wine by itself, nice glass of red wine when I get home to unwind from a long day and it doesn't require food to be enjoyed nor does it require a whole pay check to purchase.

Actually 3.5+ stars. First of all, Burgundian pinot noir is the most difficult wine to get to know, so if you are a beginner to red Burgundy, you will need someone to walk you through this wine. This is a well made and balanced entry level of Burgundian pinot noir. On the nose, there is a lot of earthiness going on, mud, a little bit of dirt (it gives you a hint of the terroir). There are also some strawberries. Midpalate, there is some minerality going on, some earthiness, and a hint of red fruits. Finish, this wine has a considerably long finish. The tannins are they but you almost feel they are polished. This wine will evolve in the next 4 to 6 years. The major drawback of this wine is that it is a little bit too light. The best way to describe this is to if you have a fine bottle of Burgundian pinot noir and you mix some water with it to make a lot of wine. However, after all this is a soled entry level Burgundian pinot noir. I am 89 on this effort. Happy drinking! Bottled at 12.5%
