Pure, ripe plum and strawberry fruit flavors underscored by a crisp acidic note and a hint of earth mark this charming, succulent wine, set in a supple texture supported by sweet, soft tannins.

    Critical Acclaim:

An enticing red, bursting with juicy blackberry, black currant and spice flavors, accented by violet and mineral. The vibrant structure provides focus and persistence. Drink now through 2012.

If you have never tasted a Barbera this is the one to start with. Barbera is one of the most planted grape varieties in Italy, this one comes from the Piedmont region. Family owned and operated by the Chiarlo family. This is a very easy to drink red wine, very fruity, not heavy with a velvety finish. I enjoy it with both food or by its self. I like to serve it to friends which are just learning to drink red wines because it is very easy to drink. I also serve it to my wine snob friends also because it is something new which many of them have never tasted along with being complex enough for their more educated palletes. If you are tryin to find something unique or different for your next dinner party which pairs well with food this is your answer.

Lip-smacking good wine. Its smooth but bold in flavor and goes well with most foods. I had it with steak and it was perfect.

Very smooth, not really my taste as I like bolder wines in general (I hadn't had a Barbera before, apparently they are on the lighter side in general, so I should have steered clear based on my tastes!). I bought the wine because the critical acclaim said it was bursting with juicy blackberry, black currant and spice flavors - I don't think its bursting at all, but again, if you appreciate wines on the subtle side you might like this wine.

I have already contacted Wine.com concerning this wine.I feel that it must have been a bad bottle, since it was so foul tasting it was undrinkable.
