    Winemaker's Notes:

Wine Enthusiast's 2011 Wine Star Award Winner: European Winery of the Year

    Blend: 50% Grenache - 35% Syrah – 15% Carignan

Tautavel produces a wine with exceptional style and a bouquet of ripe fruit (blackcurrants, blackberries), crystallized fruit and spices. The wine offers depth on the palate and a pleasant sweetness ccompanied by ripe tannins with spices lingering on the finish.

    Critical Acclaim:

Very pure-tasting and powerful, with unctuous flavors of dark plum, mincemeat, raspberry ganache and black olive. There's lots of dark chocolate and espresso notes on the muscular finish. Drink now through 2015.

Wow, loved this wine! Smooth and creamy on the palate. Rich, dark fruits and vanilla. Very well balanced.

Very smooth. Light tannins. Berry fruit on the nose. Chocolate and coffee first taste. Strong alcohol smell when first opened but decanting for a couple hours did wonders for that and smoothed out the edges.

Loved this wine! Update* I have since bought three more bottles, and have to say this is one of favorite wines of the past year.

Delicious from the start. Dark black fruit with lovely herbal overtones. Dust early which dissolved into the soft tannins. Bittersweet chocolate melding with olive tapenade. Wonderful with stuffed mushrooms and bacon wrapped scallops.

not bad for the price, but a bit too simplistically round & fruity for me. some light tannins in the very back on the finish - perhaps if they were more in the forefront I could be behind this one a little more.
