The Cabernet Sauvignon fruit is grown on our Estate controlled vineyards, in the Oakville AVA, in the heart of the Napa Valley. The Oakville District is renowned for its Cabernet Sauvignon and produces wines that are full, lush and very elegant.
Winemaker tasting notes: The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is big and lush with huge gobs of fruit in the aroma and flavor. The texture of the wine is soft and supple, typical of Cabernet Sauvignons grown in our area of the Oakville AVA.
Menu suggestions: "A slab and a Cab", Dennis Groth recommends you drink his Cabernet Sauvignon with steak.
Dazzling. Easily the best Groth Cabernet in many years, dry, full-bodied and crazily rich in blackberries, cherries, tobacco and new oak. The ripe, sweet fruit is held in check by brisk acidity and firm tannins, resulting in an exciting tension. Beautiful now, and should develop gracefully throughout the decade.
Smooth and bright with fresh plum and black cherry; dense and harmonious with tangy acidity and good structure; complex and charming.
This is a very clean and fruity Cab with firm tannins and bright acidity with dark fruits and minerals. Full and firm. Give this another five years of bottle to really mellow, but why wait?
