Pinot Noir is well-suited to pair with poultry, beef, fish, ham, lamb and pork. It will play well with creamy sauces, spicy seasonings and may just be one of the world's most versatile food wines.
Deep red. Captivating, highly perfumed aromas of raspberry, pepper, Asian spices, cocoa powder and rose; brighter and more precise than the regular bottling. Then juicy and penetrating in the mouth, with brilliantly fresh raspberry and wild strawberry flavors that stain the palate. Finishes tangy and long, with a whiplash of mineral-accented red fruits and flowers. This one really calls for a decade of aging, even if there's plenty to like now. Aged in 30% new oak.
Lush nose of cherry and brown sugar; smooth, supple and juicy with long, elegant flavors and lovely structure; dense, complex and complete with excellent balance.
The 2008 Pinot Noir Laurene Estate spent 13-15 months in 25% new oak. It offers a splendid nose of smoke, spice box, floral notes, black cherry, and black raspberry. Medium-bodied on the palate, it has enough structure to evolve for 2-3 years, precise balance, a velvety texture, and an elegant personality. Drink this lengthy effort from 2013 to 2023.
Initially there is a noticeable touch of reduction though it quickly blows off to reveal very pretty and solidly complex aromas of blue and red pinot fruit that is cut with spice and violet notes. The delicious, round and delineated flavors possess good depth and excellent length as well as just a touch of finishing austerity that is really quite appealing. A lovely effort of class and grace that should age well.
Floral, minty overtones add depth to the rich cherry and tobacco flavors in this medium-weight, focused and distinctive wine. The finish lingers appealingly. Drink now through 2018. 2,950 cases made.
