    Winemaker's Notes:

Wonderful, heady aromas of ripe dark cherries, spice rack, and cigar box are emitted from this wine's fragrant bouquet. This full-bodied wine has opulent, jammy black fruit flavors layered over silky and supple tannins with an amazingly smooth lingering finish. A perfect accompaniment with grilled steak or roast beef.

    Critical Acclaim:

A better bet is the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon. Its dense ruby/purple color is followed by notes of licorice, tobacco leaf, blackberries, and vanillin. It should drink nicely for a decade or more.

Good red-ruby. Musky, smoky aromas of black cherry, meat, minerals, licorice, mocha and earth. Sweeter and finer than the merlot, with better clarity of flavor and lift in the mouth. Finishes with suaver tannins and lingering notes of brown spices and mocha.

I am rating this wine as one star because there was clumps of sand-like debris floating in the wine and attached to the cork. The taste was compromised as well. I concuded that the wine must have been stored improperly at some point in time and spoiled. It may have been a good wine if properly stored, but I'll never know. I returned my purchase and will buy something else. Wine.com was very accommodating. No complaints there!
