A very pleasant wine. Bright, clear red color. Aromas are surprising in their intensity and fruit. On the palate, a tender, supple, graceful, round body. Very flavorful in the aftertaste, with a hint of blackberry jam. When the wine gets older, wild blackberry is the dominant aroma. After 3 or 5 years, the wine takes on a distinctive smell of truffle and undergrowth evolving towards notes of venison.
The 2009 Chorey-Les-Beaune shows beautiful focus and energy in its red cherries, flowers and minerals. The supple style is undoubtedly attractive. This is mostly made from estate owned fruit. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2016.
Ripened to blue fruit and herbal notes, this is a more concentrated wine than Chorey typically produces. It's still relatively light, and the soft richness of the tannins make it accessible now for roast beef.
