    Winemaker's Notes:

Chocolate, coffee, herb, and earth characteristics jump from the glass of the 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Chabot Vineyard. It is also tannic and austere.

    Critical Acclaim:

Full ruby. Superripe aromas of black raspberry, cedar and nutty oak show an almost roasted ripeness. Then sappy, spicy and urgent, with lively acidity and a minty element lifting the cassis and lead pencil flavors. Very bright wine, finishing with solid tannic spine. This should age well.
