The 2008 Shiraz is everything you would be looking for in an Estate release from a very good year for reds. Rich aromas and full bodied palate of dark berries and pepper, ripe red berry fruits, liquorice, plums and chocolate characters, and a finish that lingers.
Linger over a Tahbilk 2008 Shiraz alongside a Lamb Stew or some Meaty Italian Sausages.
Lively crimson-red colour; it is open-fermented and spends 18 months in a mix of French oak of various sizes and ages. It has a delicious, albeit unexpected, edge of red cherry fruit on the medium-bodied palate; the core is black cherry and plum, and the tannins are particularly good. A very appealing wine.
This red is supple in texture, as a strong floral, perfumed note weaves through the dark berry and black tea flavors. Finishes with black olive accents, which add depth. Drink now through 2016.
The 2008 Shiraz reveals a deep garnet-purple color and notes of dried plums, blackberry and black cherry preserves and mulberries over chocolate, aniseed, tar and damp earth. Very crisp and full bodied in the mouth, it provides firm, tight-knit tannins and a good amount of black berry and earthy flavors that linger long into the finish. Approachable now, it should drink well to 2016.
