We refer to our "everyday" and easy-drinking Syrah as "Tous les Jours." A red wine blend of Syrah from Paso Robles and Santa Ynez Valley vineyards, it is carefully blended to produce a soft, smooth Syrah full of ripe berry aromas and flavors. Tous les Jours is consistently lauded as a 'Crozes-Hermitage look-alike' by wine critics and has been touted as one of the best wines under $20.
The 2008 Syrah Tous les Jours is a stunning bottle of wine for the money. It is a decidedly flashy, extroverted Syrah loaded with blue and black fruits, licorice and tar, all of which come together in a fat, forward style. Smoke, tar and French oak linger on the finish. This is a superb, entry-level Syrah from Andrew Murray. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2014.
Bright ruby. Cherry and dark berry preserves on the nose, with complicating notes of licorice and olive tapenade. Lively, taut cherry and blackberry flavors stain the palate, showing very good clarity and zesty minerality that builds with air. Finishes with strong cut and sweet persistence. This is an outstanding value.
