    Winemaker's Notes:

From one vintage to the next, one of the strengths of Chateau Pipeau is to offer consistent style and personality. It is a wine with expressive fruit, an opulent nose of red berries, roundness on the palate, with good length and a harmonious and elegant finish. Chateau Pipeau is very delightfull when young but it also has all the qualities for laying-down of a really great Saint-Emilion!

    Critical Acclaim:

Offers lots of dark coffee, bittersweet cocoa and roasted fig aromas and flavors laid over muscular tannins. The smoky, broad finish rumbles along.

This sexy, seductive 2008 offers abundant notes of Asian plum sauce, blueberries and black currants, a seductive, plush texture, impressive purity and a long, elegant finish. Dark ruby/purple and medium to full-bodied, this wine should be drunk now and over the next 8-10 years.

My collection is from 2002 thru 2008. I fell in love this wine when I visited St. Emillion. It typically is rated 90& better, The price not outragious. Everything is there aroma, essence, esters, taste before , during and esp., after which for me is important.

Fruit was a little buried by the tannins and acid initially, but made an appearance after about 2 hours of decanting.
