This full bodied, rich Chardonnay offers a powerful citrus-marmalade and steely backbone. Classic toasty and butterscotch-like characters with mineral undertones. Good balance of oak followed with abundant fruit. Aging potential of 7-10 yrs.
A ripe, sleek and stylish white, this offers a persimmon and toasted hazelnut frame to its core of creamed Jonagold apple, brioche, verbena and pear flavors. The long and creamy finish has nicely embedded acidity. Distinctive and enticing.
The 2011 Chardonnay is fermented in barrel. It has a vibrant bouquet with distant scents of mussels and orange blossom that is very well defined. The palate is a little oaky on the entry with hints of toffee apple and quince that builds nicely to very attractive walnut tinged finish. This is a very Constantia--like Chardonnay - and there is nothing wrong with that.
