    Winemaker's Notes:

This wine offers all of the color, concentration and complexity of a classic Cabernet Sauvignon from Pritchard Hill. The nose displays, rich, vivid layers of dark berry, cherry, and sweet oak, underscored by background notes of bay leaf, sage, chocolate and anise. The mouthfeel is powerful, yet rounded, with a silky presence that allows the wine to gracefully support its size, and its voluptuous ripe cherry, berry and plum flavors. Spicy oak notes of cin- namon, vanilla and roasted coffee add nuance and depth, while youthful tannins give a fine grip to the palate providing the structure for long-term aging.

Blend: 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 6% Malbec, 4% Petit Verdot

    Critical Acclaim:

Good medium ruby-red. Inviting aromas of cassis, dark chocolate, mocha, licorice, tobacco and loam. Supple on entry, then ripe, suave and concentrated, with harmonious acidity framing the youthful currant, mocha and menthol flavors. A bit less giving today than the nose suggests but nicely sweet and sharply delineated. The firmly tannic, lively finish is a bit youthfully tough and in need of patience, but this cabernet offers outstanding potential.

    International Wine Cellar

The 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Signature is a dark, mysterious beauty endowed with considerable depth and richness. Mocha, chocolate, spices and plums fuse together gracefully as this soft, supple wine takes shape in the glass. I very much like the immediacy of the 2010. Only a little bit of persistence is missing on the finish, but not enough to materially detract from what is a gorgeous bottle of wine. For Napa Valley standards, this is about as good as it gets for the money. The blend is 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 7% Malbec and 4% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.

    Vinous / Antonio Galloni

Sturdy and rich, a classically proportioned Bordeaux-like expression of mountain-grown fruit. Dense and chewy, showing dark berry, currant, cedar and crushed rock notes, with a dash of black licorice woven in.

Introduced by sweet blackberry flavors, this takes time to develop past an initial simplicity of fruit and oak. The tannins slowly develop textural detail, while the fruit gains complexity with a gamier edge. A fine Napa cabernet to order decanted at a steakhouse.
