    Winemaker's Notes:

This 100% Monastrell shows extraordinary expression of the variety.

It will pair well with fish in sauce, various meats and cheeses.

    Critical Acclaim:

The 2011 Tarima made from non-organic Monastrell is sensational. From an area dominated by cooperatives, this full-bodied blockbuster boasts plenty of blue and black fruit notes, impressive purity and an enticing texture as well as length. It is hard to believe that wines such as this can be found for under $10 a bottle.

I would definitely buy this wine again. It has a bit of a spiciness to it and goes great with every meal we have served it with. Let it breathe for about 30 minutes and it is even better.

I generally reserve my two star and less ratings to flawed wines, which this isn't...but i couldn't get past the oak on this one. smells like oak. tastes like oak. it's oaky. So if you like chewing on wood--this is your wine! it was a disappointment for me, usually these less expensive spanish wines are just easy, subtle drinkers...not this one. tastes like black currents dipped in a Popsicle stick that you naw on.
