The 2003 vintage of this wine was ranked #6 on the Wine Spectator's Top 10 Wines of 2006
Big, concentrated botrytis flavors, layering the honey with the rich dried fruits. This is a powerhouse of a wine, densely structured.
Barrel Sample: 94-96 Points
Bright medium-deep gold. Captivating aromas of tangerine, peach and honey are complemented by flowers and a sexy oak note of coconut. Highly concentrated, fresh and sweet, with gloriously pure, marmalady botrytis tones complicating the citrus, caramelized banana, toffee and peach flavors. Rich and creamy yet wonderfully balanced thanks to plenty of acidity, this impressive young Sauternes finishes with palate-staining length and lingering hints of white pepper and ginger.
Barrel Sample: 91-94 Points
Already a slightly dark colore. Beautiful concentration. It’s rich and very sweet with intense notes of bitter oranges and honey. Superb finish that long and racy with notes of botrytis.
Barrel Sample: 93-94 Points
The Chateau Lafaurie Peyraguey has an ebullient nose of Tropicana, dried honey and quince that intensifies in the glass whilst maintaining impressive definition. The palate is very well-balanced with superb tension and focus, a Sauternes built of minerality and poise, leading to a citrus, almost spicy finish that leaves the mouth tingling with pleasure.
Barrel Sample: 91-93 Points
A bright, engaging style, with unctuous, high-toned pineapple, white peach, candied citrus peel and green almond notes, lined with a lightly toasted coconut edge on the finish. Pure. Best from 2014 through 2028.
