    Winemaker's Notes:

Dark ruby and garnet core with a crimson rim. Concentrated and intense; nuances of cocoa, forest floor, truffles and red currant back up dark cherry and kirsch. A slight capsicum/pepper gives this wine its varietal thumbprint without being overbearing. Round and generous with great flavor intensity and persistent finish, this wine is seductive and polished. Decant and drink.

Blend: 76% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 9% Malbec, 3% Petit Verdot

    Critical Acclaim:

Young, supple and stylish, this mixes notes of berry, plum and cassis, demonstrating poise and richness. The barrel flavors are smoothly integrated; the finish is rich and dark, with a strong streak of cacao. Editors' Choice.

Initial aromas show bold vanilla oak, blackberry, currant, and floral components. Aromas seem to close up shortly after pouring the first glass, then reappear after a bit of airing in the glass, bringing some herbal, cedar, and cocoa components to the background. Bold currant and blackberry flavors with an oaky background; some dark chocolate, cocoa, and black cherry components emerge as the wine airs in the glass. On second night, aromas start out similar to but a bit more subdued than the initial aromas on the first night, but pick up a bit as the wine airs in the glass. Flavors on the second night similar to the first, with a bit of plum also showing. Third night similar to the second, but with a tinge of sharpness showing in the flavors. Fourth night similar to the second, without any hint of sharpness in the flavors. Full bodied with mild tannins that become more noticeable as the wine airs in the glass. Held up surprisingly well after opening.

First bottle was a little on the sour side, so can't give a good rating. Maybe second bottle well be better?
