This is a new wine from Jorge Ordonez from the region of Montsant with soils just like it's neighbor, Priorat. Zerran Tinto 2010 is made from Syrah and very old Garnacha vines and Carignan (aka Mazuelo) aged 16 months in French oak. The red has very concentrated black fruit flavors and overtones of crushed stone.
Bright violet color. Aromas of cherry, redcurrant, and potpourri, with a mineral topnote. Spicy cherry and earth flavors show a sexy floral nuance, strong minerality and very good focus. Finishes on a bitter cherry note, with strong cut and lingering spiciness.
