    Winemaker's Notes:

When it comes to Pinot, Shoofly is convinced the best wines are coming from their eastern neighbors in the Yarra Valley. It's easy to see why - this wine shows the purity of fruit that is so easily lost with this fickle variety. The aromas and flavors mirror one another with light cherry, spicy floral notes and hints of vanilla. The silky texture envelops the palate while the balanced flavors welcomingly linger on the finish.

    Critical Acclaim:

Excellent, deep and clear, red-purple; the cherry/spice aromas of the bouquet are followed by a strongly structured palate, its black cherry and plum fruit supported by savoury/foresty tannin-derived nuances. Amazing price - will repay cellaring if you can keep your hands off it.

Bright red. Fresh red berries, rose and allspice on the perfumed nose and in the mouth. Lithe and precise, with appealing sweetness that carries through the finish. Quite sexy, with upfront appeal but the balance to reward at least another three years or so of patience. This suave wine represents one of the best pinot values I've seen from anywhere in some time.

For the price it is rather good. Very light and full of fruity flavor, it is very drinkable but not very versatile when pairing with food. So, good, but I prefer Innocent Bystander for Pinot Noir from Australia.

It was an okay wine, but not much of a flavor or fragrance. If you're looking for a wonderful Pinot, go for the Mark West California much better!

I am trying to broaden my wine drinking horizons and so I bought this pinot from Australia because it was rated well and priced great. But... from the moment I opened it, the aroma was just... funky. Obviously it wasn't "corked" because it's a screwcap. It tasted exactly like smelled. A really nice way to describe it's aroma bouquet would be "earthy," but a more honest way would be "tastes like armpits." No way I will ever buy this again.
