    Winemaker's Notes:

Craggy Range Te Muna Road Pinot Noir is highly colored with bright ruby red in color. Savory spice notes are accented by perfumed aromas of violets, red cherry, blackberry and ruby grapefruit on the nose. Complex flavors of cherry, root spice, smoke and florals predominate the textural and creamy palate. The finish is long with redfruit and spice drawn out by the fine, silky tannin structure. Delicious with poultry, game and lamb dishes. Drink now through 2011.

    Critical Acclaim:

The 2006 Te Muna Road Pinot Noir was a little sullen on the nose when I tasted it, the palate displays very fine tannins with a touch of sous-bois and spice towards the plum finish.

    The Wine Advocate

Refined, with excellent intensity to spice, berry, black cherry and rose petal accents. Fresh herb undertones, minerals and nicely integrated oak underscore the intense finish. Drink now through 2011. 1,725 cases imported.

I know, I know, most NZ Pinot's are not that good especially at $47.99 but this one is. If you tasted it blind you would never guess it is from New Zealand. As you can also see it is a consistent high scoring wine from the Spectator which is not easy to do. I rank this one up there with my other favorite, Foley Santa Rita Pinot Noir from Santa Barbara. If you have the money, you can't go wrong.

This represents a top end Pinot Noir and highly recommend it.

This Pinot Noir is better than some of the best in California. Most people are scare of New Zealand Pinot's but don't be with this one. One of Wine Spectators highest rated NZ Pinot's the last three vintages. This wine is also not easy to find so buy it while you can before it is all gone.
