    Winemaker's Notes:

Garnet red in color, this wine exhibits ripe cherry and spice accentuated with rich plum and savory highlights. It has a rich, sweet approach displaying ripe dark berry fruits, subtle oak spice, velvety tannins and a long, concentrated finish.

This wine's structure and concentration make it an ideal match for a wide range of foods. It will match well with field mushroom pasta or risotto. It also lends itself to rare, grilled red meats or a variety of slow cooked casseroles including game meats, such as rabbit or fowl.

    Critical Acclaim:

The 2006 Marlborough Reserve is a blend of some of the best lots that do not go into the single-vineayard wines, a silken Pinot in 2006 with layers of transparent spice, umami mushroom and forest floor scents. It is an impressive Pinot from a large producer, and it would be delicious with roast arctic char and roast hen-of-the-woods on the side.

we like a lighter red for spring/summer; this has nice flavor and went well with a seasoned chicken dish and a pepper steak dish

I have been to New Zealand Wine areas a few times and buy Sav Bl, Chard, & Pinot Gris & Noirs. NZ has some of the best buys on the globe and this is one of them.

7 no very strong nose and taste, fruity, tons of earth, so good and sensual, silk texture, medium-light body, medium finish, too expensive though

I am certainly not a wine expert and I believe that taste is personal, but, for the price this Pinot was excellent.

Sure, it's hard to find a very good pinot at a reasonable price. This stacks up with bottles going for twice the cost. Very soft on the palate with reserved dark fruit. A bit of mineral and earth on the back gives it a little maturity. Layered, but lacking the depth of top flight pinots, it's still very good and a steal at this price

This is a steal for the price. Not an earth-shattering Grand Cru Burgundy, but a very good elegant New World Pinot with real flavor , beats many 25 dollar Pinots

Pleasant enough, but seemed a bit "wimpy" or watery. Not the complexity I was hoping for.

Already showing signs of age in color and flavor. Would have been better 12 months ago. Drink up!

Light, watery, and acidic... have not really found any pinot that I love, maybe because my favorites are malbec, merlot, and cab in that order. This pinot was not as good as many bar house merlot's. Have other Pinot's to try and like the free shipping for $49 per year, great deal. This was my first bottle out of 17 I ordered so onward and upward.

Rather ordinary but somewhat typical of Pinot Noirs which I've found to be a very challenging wine for vintners.
