My goal with the Columbia Valley Chardonnay is to make it a pleasurable, food-friendly Chardonnay. This 2007 bottling is a fresh, soft Chardonnay with bright sweet citrus fruit character with subtle spice and oak nuances. I blend Chardonnay grapes from vineyards all over the Columbia Valley to make this a complex, interesting wine. The sur lie aging gives it an appealing softness.
Pair with foods such as crab, poultry, salmon, scallops and herbs such as ginger, lemon zest, tarragon and thyme.
This is bright and lively, with a floral, toasty aspect to the juicy pear and citrus flavors. Finishes with pizzazz. Drink now through 2011.
