    Winemaker's Notes:

The fruit profile opens with fresh blackberries and black cherry, followed by ripe raspberry jam. More subtle aromas of currants, licorice, black pepper and spice. Entry on the palate is a burst of berries, followed by spices and ripe fruit sweetness. The mid-palate is smooth and round with elegant tannins and a lush finish. This Dry Creek offering shows that Zinfandel can be sophisticated and elegant and gains complexity with pairing. As such, excellent food pairings include roasted duck, veal, and grilled salmon as well as pastas and subtle-flavored cheeses.

    Critical Acclaim:

A real spice bomb, loaded with black cherry and caramel notes and jammy, appealingly complex huckleberry, toasty licorice and loamy sage flavors. Drink now through 2014. 2,750 cases made.

I am not usually a Zin person, but I really like this one. Had it at a resturant with a steak and had to order a couple of bottles.

One of my favorite red wines! This Zinfandel has nice tannings with a subtle fruity undertone that finishes well alone or with creamy cheeses.

I don't remember what in particular I liked about this wine, but I do know that I liked it enough to add to my list of wines that I liked enough to write down because I want to buy it again.

Possesses three qualities I love: blackberry, jam and smoothness. I will order this again.

Brought it to a Japanese restaurant, went well with the appetizers. Will give it 90 too, but need to take a better tasting note :)

Great expecially for the price. A bit of jam without being too overwhelming. Very lush, nice follow through.

No acidity, very little tannin, not powerful. On the nose I get leather, cigar box, earthiness. However, if you are buying this wine, make sure you decant it for at least 3 hours. Otherwise, it would taste like regular juice, exactly as is!
