    Winemaker's Notes:

A blend of 78% Shiraz and 22% Pinotage.

The dominant variety is a rich, spicy Shiraz blended with a deep flavored Pinotage. The 2007 vintage shows intense fruit and I feel that the tannins have lovely soft structure.

Nose is subdued in its youth, but shows clove and liquorice hints. Medium bodied, with ripe fruit flavours. Elegant finish, with oak notes and red fruit following through.

"A blend of 78% Shiraz and 22% Pinotage, this is a serious wine despite the unserious name. It shows guts and structure with a winning combination of dark berry fruit and a notably meaty, mushroomy edge. There's a bit of oak showing along with the tannins, which are notable but certainly not too much for the lightly sweet fruit to counterbalance." 87 Points

    Critical Acclaim:

Rich and ripe, this Shiraz/Pinotage blend start with savory spice and red berry aromas, followed by juicy, integrated black fruit, pepper and complex spice. Good minerality and structure with a friendly, easygoing appeal.
