    Region: Chile, South America

    Varietal: Cabernet Sauvignon

    Style: Big & Bold

    Item no. 98880

    Winemaker's Notes:

A blend of 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah, 5% Carmenere and 2% Cabernet Franc.

Color: Clean ruby red with purple shadows.

Nose: Expressive aromas with ripe red fruits like plums, dry figs and notes of black spices.

Mouth: The palate is elegant, supported by a soft structure with fine and delicate tannins. Nice persistence.

Service and Food Pairing: Open and leave to breathe minimum for an hour and serve at 16-18°C. Ideal companion of all red meat, winter soups and of course Barbecue!

    Critical Acclaim:

A perennial Best Buy Cab. The nose is smoky and rock-solid, with clean berry fruit and muscle. The palate is lively and secure, with balance, firm tannins, proper acidity and a tasty mix of cocoa, herbs and berry fruit. Finishes on the spot.

Fruity and sweet with a slightly earthy background to the nose. After an hour at room temperature in a decanter I find this wine to have a light sweet tasting start followed by a fairly bold earthy base finishing with a slightly acidic mix of fruit that doesn't dissapear too quickly

I would have labeled this "Smooth and Supple", not "Big and Bold". This is a very nice Cab blend, for the price. The nose is clean fruit - not overpowering. On the palate, I found a nice balance of tannins and acidity. If you let it open up for an hour (in a decanter), you'll be rewarded with a long finish with slight earth tones. I only gave it three stars because I personally prefer a bigger Cab, but if you are in the market for a smooth, easy drinking-ready now Cab., all at a very reasonable price - look no further.

Nice ripe backberry and strawberry flavors but a bit harsh. Perhaps it would mellow over time??

A dissapointment. Quite bitter and tasteless. We were very surpised but no one at the dinner table liked it. Perhaps decant it for 1 1/2 hours. We will let the remaining case sit for a few years.

Was expecting a lot more out of this Chilean cab...too me it seemed lacking alot. Very light in the mouth..was expecting something a little richer.
