    Winemaker's Notes:

A blend of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

A brilliant ruby tone combined with deeper red makes this wine particularly attractive. Its bouquet is well-developed, combining a touch of oak for its aging of 2 years in French oak casks, with ripe red fruits. Harmonious, smooth, flexible and with a deep flavor, it is a well-balanced wine with just the right level of acidity to keep it lively and rounded. A wine of great distinction.

    Critical Acclaim:

One of the best $15 red blends being made today. Carrascal gives us 45% Malbec, 35% Merlot and 20% Cabernet in rock-solid form. The nose has toast, mineral, balsam wood and good berry fruit, and the palate provides the troika of cherry, raspberry and plum with no interference or oaky gimmicks. Pleasant, warm and long on the finish. - M.S.

I found this to be an unusually fragrant and delicious Argentinian wine. It felt rich in the mouth, finished very nicely, and was just the thing to polish off an evening before bed.

Big and bold. I liked the lingering flavors and how it settles on my palate. Intimidating at first, and not a fast-drinking wine. Great with red meats.

I keep coming back to this wine, 5 times already! For a sub $15 bottle, you can hardly go wrong! This blends my three favorite wines together seamlessly combining the best of them into these bottles.

A tremendous $15 bottle of red Bordeaux...oh wait, wrong country...no, wrong continent! But seriously this is better than most $20-$25 French bottles, not quite the same flavor profile as any one region in Bordeaux, but close enough to satisfy "the itch" for an Haut Medoc, Fronsac or St. Emilion. Medium body, great basic flavor, enough complexity to be interesting and nicely rounded edges. Finish is fairly long, but not very complex, nice smooth slightly astringent tannins, but fairly simple nose. I would think this wine is about at it's peak, but haven't tasted younger/older vintages, so that's only supposition.

This is an awesome blend, in particular given its price; in fact, it is hard to imagine competitors in this price range. Intense taste with a very long finish.

Good wine. Solid B. Good oak, not too fruity.
