    Winemaker's Notes:

The nose features plum and bright red fruits with a hint of roasted meats, earth, pepper and exotic spices. The palate has some wonderful delicate fruit with blackberry joining the party. A touch of dried herbs adds a savory edge with fine, lifted tannins providing a long finish. It's cracking wine with sophistication—but don't worry it's still a lot of fun.

    Varietal Blend: Grenache, Shiraz, Mourvedre

    Critical Acclaim:

It hardly needs to be said that this wine is ludicrously good value. Mid-garnet in colour, it has an attractive raspberry, licorice and sage bouquet, then a medium-bodied and succulent palate, with Provencial herbs drawing out the finish. It's a very good example of the Rhone-inspired style, and excellent for early consumption.

This is a great wine. It is extremely versatile in pairing with food, and is a good quaff on its own.

This is my favorite GSM blend of the Australian wines. Price is awesome for the taste.

@Jennifer FUller: You should not have expected a Rhone-inspired GSM blend to be light, fruity and sweet. This is a medium bodied, herby, and dry wine by definition. This wine is typical of GSM/Châteauneuf-du-Pape styled wines and is a great bargain.

Considering this blend consists of mostly Shiraz & Grenache, I had thought it would be a bit sweeter, friuty. It is slightly bitter. I opened it for dinner with pork, better with beef/veal.
