    Winemaker's Notes:

Deep crimson with violet hues, the Yalumba Y Series Shiraz Viognier 2008 displays aromas of crushed mulberries, wild berry and rhubarb which are complemented by hints of sweet cinnamon and violets. This wine is medium bodied with layers of wild berries and violets, while the tannins are soft which give the wine a juicy sweetness and persistence.

    Critical Acclaim:

Bright purple; a lifted bouquet with stone fruit dominating the blackberry at this point; the palate switches this around, with a distinctly darker personality coming through on the finish; an alluring combination of aroma and flavor.

We have ordered this wine before. It is smooth and elegant in taste for pre-dinner socializing as well as sit-down tablecloth meals. We'd order it again.

Great wine for the price. Long finish. Good enough to drink alone.

This is an old french trick to add the viognier, and it really works. The combo is totally excellent. We love Shiraz, but the addition of viognier in blending is now near the top of our wines for foodies.

A lovely wine; the viognier takes the edge off any rough edges in the not-quite-mature shiraz. It has a striking nose, full of fruits and flowers. The flavor is pleasant and well integrated with quite a long finish. Enjoyable with steak but better with lighter fare. Everyone will like this wine. Not too heavy, not too light - just right! What a wine value!

Another lovely Shiraz, but a step down from the Rolling Shiraz also enjoyed the same evening - but very nice in its own right. Would like to compare it to its "big brother" the 2006 and see if it can hold its own at half the price. A very, very, good value PS - they just up'ed the price to $11.99 from $7.99

My French friend and I tried this together and it's possibly the worst wine we've ever had. Too bitter and it's one of those wines that gives you a headache.
