At the start of the Covid-19 crisis, e-commerce retailer Wine.com saw its sales roar into overdrive, and that growth has continued unabated. After experiencing a 47% increase in sales to nearly $200 million in the 12 months through April, Wine.com’s trailing 12-month figures for May jumped by 65% to $222 million. Meanwhile, revenue from the company’s membership program, StewardShip, was up 74% to $115 million in the trailing 12-month period through May.

At the recent annual Impact Marketing Seminar, Rich Bergsund, chief executive officer of giant online retailer Wine.com, said the site pulled in $150 million in revenue in 2019.

Things could not have gone much better for Wine.com in 2019. Wine.com topped $150 million in revenue last year, a $20 million year-to-year bounce and the largest gain in its 15-year history. Those results were helped by 60 percent revenue growth over Cyber Weekend, high net promoter scores and improvements to the customer experience that kept consumers coming back for more outside of holidays and heavy promotional periods.
