Winemaker Notes
An over 2,000 years old aged region-Alella-, and a grape variety –Pansa Blanca- only growing in those 750 acres, together with a granitic soil low in nutrients –the Sauló-, which makes for a fresh, long acidity.
This is the background of the project born in 1981 formerly named as Marqués de Alella, and which is nowadays part of the group Raventós Codorniu. Raventós de Alella is surrounded by old vineyards and forests in the interior of the coastal mountain range that divides de region of Alella.
Since the first vintage made in the modern winery, cultivation and production has followed a clear philosophy: extracting and sharing the essence of Pansa Blanca.Intense hand labor, low temperature fermentation, separate vinification and a deep knowledge of the terroir and the grape variety make for wines in constant evolution, while keeping an absolute respect and commitment with natural products and the identity of the region.
