Brilliant straw yellow with a green shimmer.
Quite pronounced and expressive aroma with flowery and somewhat spicy notes. Rich flavored in the mouth, with a slight smokiness at the back and a good, fresh finish. When properly cellared, this will drink well for 2 to 4 years. This wine pairs beautifully with starters (both fish or meat), pâtés
and terrines, fish and shellfish, poultry, white meat and mushrooms.
There's nothing self-important about this wine, no ambitions to be anything but true to its place to chilly snowmelt, edelweiss and mountain gentian, to apple blossoms and chalky mineral soils. It's simple and lovely, with the fresh immediacy of Alpine air. This would be easy to drink by the bottle with a shellfish stew or roast cod. And it's a steal.
