To mark the bi-centenary of Blandy's Madeira in 2011, we decided to bottle this special, limited and numbered edition of Blandy's Bual 1920 in a Magnum bottle. This Vintage Bual aged for 65 years in seasoned American oak casks. A fresh, medium-sweet wine with an intense, exuberant and concentrated bouquet of dried fruits, hints of toffee and a spicy and tobacco aftertaste.
"...dried honey, molasses, quince and walnut all intermingling. The palate is well-balanced with very fine acidity, delicate and feminine with notes of orange peel, quince, a hint of ginger but very focus towards the long, almost sensual finish. This is one of the best bottles I have encountered."
John Blandy first set foot on Madeira in 1807. In 1989, the Symington family became partners with the Blandy family and is helping to reinvigorate the Madeira trade.
