A balanced and fruity red with reserve and finesse. Medium body, firm tannins and a fresh finish. Better in 2018 but already delicious. A beautiful blend of sangiovese and cabernet sauvignon.

Long and sleek, the sophisticated 2013 Cabreo Borgo is a red wine that nicely combines the Tuscan traditions—sweet earthiness, dried leather, and crisp acidity—with new world nuances—ripe fruit, layered palate textures and smoothness in the finish. This is one of two estates owned by Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari. The second is Tenuta di Nozzole. The 2013 Il Borgo opens to a rich, dark garnet appearance with austere fruit flavors. Following a few vigorous swirls of the glass, the wine opens up to soft cherry and blackberry aromas with mellow textural richness. Il Borgo represents a blend of 70% Sangiovese and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon. Some 50,000 bottles are produced.

The rest of the vineyards (25 hectares) are located in Panzano (6 Km south of Greve): they are planted with Chardonnay used to produce the 'Cabreo La Pietra".
Cabreo was conceived as an Indicazione Geografica Tipica (IGT) wine in order to take advantage of the flexibility provided by the regulations of this type of classification. It allows the great potential of the Tuscan's terroir to produce a variety of high quality wines.
Legendary in Italy for its Renaissance art and striking landscape, Tuscany is also home to many of the country’s best red wines. Sangiovese reigns supreme here, as either the single varietal, or a dominant player, in almost all of Tuscany’s best.
A remarkable Chianti, named for its region of origin, will have a bright acidity, supple tannins and plenty of cherry fruit character. From the hills and valleys surrounding the medieval village of Montalcino, come the distinguished and age-worthy wines based on Brunello (Sangiovese). Earning global acclaim since the 1970s, the Tuscan Blends are composed solely of international grape varieties or a mix of international and Sangiovese. The wine called Vine Nobile di Montepulciano, composed of Prognolo Gentile (Sangiovese) and is recognized both for finesse and power.
