Winemaker Notes
CDR Cotes du Rhone has a robust color and a nose of red fruits. The mouthfeel of this blend of Syrah, Grenache, and Cinsault is generous with tannins.

A medium-bodied blend of Syrah, Grenache and Carignan, this wine offers a supple feel and plenty of red berry and cherry fruit, with just enough spice to give it additional interest. Drink it over the next year or so.
CDR honors the history of quality winemaking in the Côtes du Rhône appellation. Wines have been produced in the region since pre Roman times and were celebrated by the kings and the Popes in residence at Avignon. The area had been become so renowned for its wines that in 1737 a royal edict mandated all casks of wine shipped from the district be branded with the letters CDR, in effect instituting the first system of authentication of origin in France 200 years before current AOC rules were written. CDR is Côtes du Rhône made in the traditional style from old vine bush trained gobelet pruned vines grown on the right bank of the Rhône River.
