A very fine and polished 2020 with tar, blackberry, stone and wet earth aromas and flavors. Full and reserved with beautiful tannins and a long, long finish. Classy. Extremely well done. From biodynamically grown grapes. Demeter certification. Try in 2027.

Shows nice breadth, with warm earth and paving stone notes supporting a core of gently mulled red and black currant fruit. Delivers a dusting of tobacco and cedar on the finish. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Malbec. Drink now through 2032.

Intense blackberry and hawthorn flavors where you just know there is juice and character without going overboard. Not overly polished, not overoaked there is a lot to enjoy here, although a point of bitterness on the finish pulls things up a little short.

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2020 Haut Bergey strides out of the glass with notes of stewed black and red plums, baked blackberries and Morello cherries, plus touches of tar, unsmoked cigars and charcuterie with a touch of bay leaves. The medium-bodied palate has a pleasant chewiness and just enough freshness to frame the black fruit layers, finishing long and savory. Barrel Sample: 88 - 90

In the fifteenth century, the lord of La Louviere and Lord Olivier proceeded to land consolidation. Thus was born "The Noble House of Pontey, today Chateau Haut-Bergey. In 1700, Sir John Francis Cresse, advisor to the parliament of Bordeaux makes his home. In 1772, the estate had 100 hectares of vines. A century later, the vineyard was abandoned and rebuilt the castle in 1850 is a property approval. It was not until the second half of this century, 1957 specifically so that gradually the area regains its past wine. In March 1991, Sylviane Garcin Cathiard acquired Chateau Haut-Bergey.

The 28.5 hectares of land are located in the heart of the village of Léognan, mecca of Graves.
