Blackberry, dark chocolate and spice aromas and flavors. Medium to full body. Solid core of fruit and tannins that run the length of the wine.

The 2022 Château La Fleur (Dassault) has an up-front, sunny, opulent style with tons to love. Ripe black cherries, spice box, chocolate, and some loamy earth all emerge from the glass, and it’s medium to full-bodied, with ripe tannins and a layered, balanced profile on the palate that’s already easy to drink.

Vibrant and forward, juicy and succulent, a great combination of lively black and red fruit with high, energetic acidity that keeps things lifted with a stony mineral undercurrent. You feel the heat on the nose, but no so on the palate with freshness and terroir markers. Really delightful to taste and drink now, smooth, round, bright and focussed with plenty of detail and finesse with licks of liquorice, clove, salt and dark chocolate on the finish giving hints of oak. Should age nicely. 3.6pH. Ageing 12-16 months, 60% new French oak barrels, 20% one wine barrels, 12% amphora and 8% stainless steel. Rolland & Associés consultants.
    Barrel Sample: 92

Chateau La Fleur, France
Known in 1898 under the name "Cru Merissac", then in 1929 as "La Fleur Merissac", the first label with Chateau La Fleur, Saint-Emilion 1st Grand Cru appeared in 1949.

In 2002, Chateau Dassault purchased its closest neighbour, Chateau La Fleur, with the intention of elevating this wine to Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classe status. Laurent Dassault decided to invest in this estate located on a clayey promontory on the northern slops of the appellation area, to enable its marvellous terroir to express its true value.
