Winemaker Notes
The white wine of the property. Emanating from our limestone slopes, it is made up of 100% Sauvignon (Blanc and Gris). Picked and sorted by hand and resulting from the first pressing, it possesses a vivacity and an affirmed minerality which presents lovely floral and exotic fruit aromas.
Professional Ratings

James Suckling
A dense and rich white with lots of dried pear and apple. Full and rich, yet it’s so energetic and electric. Contrasty and bright. 73% sauvignon blanc and the rest sauvignon gris.
-
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
The 2020 Blanc sings of ripe, juicy pears, Golden Delicious apples and white peaches with a waft of allspice. The medium-bodied palate has a seriously racy line lifting all the ripe, expressive apple and spice flavors and pleasant oiliness to the texture to an invigorating finish.

Jeb Dunnuck
Lots of bright citrus and grapefruit, as well as some minty herbs and mineral notes emerge from the 2020 Château Puygueraud Blanc, a medium-bodied, refreshing, crisp white that's going to shine on a hot summer day, as well as be incredibly versatile on the dinner table.

Chateau Puygueraud is located in one of the smallest of the Bordeaux appellations, Cotes de Francs. With only 450 hectares, this appelation resembles a small independent state and occupies the highest slopes of the Gironde, halfway between the valleys of the Isle and the Dordogne, to the east of Saint Emilion. Created in 1967, the appellation is very much part of the Bordelais family, its wines having the precision of the best Bordeaux. Humble pearl of the Bordelais vineyards, the Cotes de Francs is nevertheless one of its most precious stones.
