Winemaker Notes
Château Siran is the result of a subtle blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, which reflects the identity of its terroir. The relatively high percentage of petit verdot brings a spicy note that reinforces the unique character of Siran’s wines. Both powerful and subtle, Siran’s wines always seek a balance between the softness of the tannins, the intensity of the fruit and a persistent freshness. Siran wines are known for their aging potential, even long aging that will delight the most patient.

Decanter
Pretty, wild floral notes on the nose alongside fresh raspberry. Supple and agile, this has a lovely ease to it - not showy or too loud, but gentle and calm, delivering chalky, creamy red fruits with soft, fine, graphite-edged tannins. Pleasing acidity gives a persistent if not totally lively lift throughout, and this has an unfussy charm with lovely crushed stone salinity on the finish. No drop in the mid-palate, but lightly flavored with gentle persistency. Easy to enjoy.

James Suckling
Cherry stones, currants, tobacco and lemon peel on the nose. Sleek and focused, elegant, with fine-grained tannins, a medium body and a creamy, linear finish.

Siran is one of the rare estates in Bordeaux to have belonged to the same family for over 150 years (the chateau was acquired in 1859 by the family who presently own it). Representing the fifth generation, Edouard Miailhe has been at the helm of this unique estate since 2007. Helped by a new, young winemaking team, he is determined to perpetuate and enhance the chateaus fine reputation.
