Winemaker Notes

Enticing aromas of lemongrass, green tea and sweet smoky notes begin the nose on this well-structured Fumé Blanc. Vibrant acidity and bright fruit flavors of kiwi fruit and melon linger on the palate and lead to a fresh finish with hints of spice.

Critical Acclaim

WE 91
Wine Enthusiast

This bottling continues to impress after all these years with its complexity and sheer deliciousness. The '06 shows charred barrel fermentation notes of pungent, smoky wood, but there's a great heart of citrus, melon and pepper spice flavors that makes the wine rich and rewarding. It's made even better by zesty acidity and a bone-dry finish.

RP 91
The Wine Advocate

Always a winner, the 2006 Fume Blanc Le Petit Etoile offers a complex bouquet of herbs, melons, figs, lemon grass, and honeysuckle. Fruity, with superb definition, light to medium body, and a clean, fresh finish, it should also last for several years.
