Terrific potential and pure botrytis character to the aromas and flavors of dried mushrooms, clove-like spices and dried fruit, such as apricot and pineapple. It’s full-bodied, very long and intense with a great finish. Lively and compact with a dense but agile center-palate. Barrel Sample: 98-99

While I wasn't able to taste many Sauternes in 2021, everything I was able to taste was impressive. The 2021 Château Suduiraut is great example, offering a thrilling perfume of orange blossom, honeyed citrus, sweet mint, and even a kiss of chalky minerality to go with a medium to full-bodied, pure, seamless, straight-up gorgeous profile on the palate. It brings plenty of sweetness, yet the freshness, purity, and balance are as good as it gets.

Such an expressive nose as you’d expect from such tiny quantities of 1hl/ha in 2021. Candied lemon, wild honey, honey blossom and sweet orange on the nose - just smells so incredible. Sensual yet delicate, this has a real freshness and gentleness so you get a Sauternes weight and density on the mid palate but such refined edges and sense of lift. Aromas are more pronounced that expected - purity and freshness but an overwhelming sense of high definition, there is no hiding here so as well as the sucrosity you get the minerality and cinnamon edges that give the wine a real character. I love it! Sophisticated and thoughtful!

Château Suduiraut is acknowledged to be one of the finest Sauternes. The team at the Suduiraut estate, passionate about their work are united in the pursuit of their goal : to extract from this great vineyard one of the world's finest wines.
The history of Château Suduiraut, in Sauternes, goes back to centuries. After the total destruction of the property by the Duke d’Epernon in the 1600’s, Count Blaise de Suduiraut replanted the vineyard and restored the estate to its former glory. On 18 April 1855 the estate was classed as a Premier Cru during the official wine classification programme in the Gironde winegrowing area. AXA Millésimes acquired Suduiraut in 1992 with the aim of preserving and perpetuating the estate's remarkable tradition of vineyard management and winemaking. Inspired by the great Suduiraut wines of the past, the new management has enabled this great vineyard to fulfill its full potential in recent years.
