Winemaker Notes

The 2006 d'Arrys Original Shiraz-Grenache is dark ruby-colored with an alluring bouquet of cherry, blueberry, earth notes, and smoked meat. This is followed by a structured wine with ample savory, spicy black cherry and blueberry flavors, good balance, excellent concentration, and a lengthy finish.

Critical Acclaim

The colour hue is good, but not as deep as expected from the vintage; the usual attractive medium-bodied palate offers a mix of blackberry, dark cherry and chocolate fruit, finishing with persistent tannins. Screwcap.

The 2006 d'Arry's Original offers a welcome combination of dark, earthy complexity with notes of cola, plum and black cherry. It’s full in the mouth and expansive on the palate, leading into a long finish redolent of peppery spice. Drink now–2012.
