The nose on this wine is high-toned and full of plum, blackberry and blueberry with hints of red currant and black pepper. Dark red, almost purplish, this wine is full-bodied with excellent structure. This Zinfandel, true to its varietal, is well-balanced, has good acidity, and a touch of toast and fruit on the palate.
This wine's dark fruit tastes like pomegranate, a lean, clean zinfandel that plumps up in the finish. It's taut mineral-black in the middle, then becomes brighter in the end. Decant it for braised lamb shank.
