Winemaker Notes

Deep, bright ruby red in color, this Moulin-a-Vent offers a marvelously complex bouquet of wild berries, such as blueberry and blackberry, black currant, chocolate, candied cherry and spices. Full-bodied and velvety, it expresses great finesse as well as power. The expansive finish reveals tannins that are mature and soft.

Critical Acclaim

WS 91
Wine Spectator

Roasted mint and thyme seasons kirsch, grilled plum and boysenberry notes in this elegant red, which is grippy, with a creamy texture and a lingering smoky finish. Drink now through 2016. 4,000 cases made.

Duboeuf
For over 40 years Georges Duboeuf has been the Beaujolais region's most renowned négociant and is today regarded in the wine world as the "King of Beaujolais." Born in 1933 in Pouilly-Fuissé, the son of a winegrower, Georges began selling his family's wines from the back of his bicycle to now-legendary local chefs such as Paul Bocuse and Paul Blanc. In 1964, Georges realized his dream and founded his own company: Les Vins Georges Duboeuf.

The Napa Valley and Cabernet Sauvignon are so intrinsically linked...

The [Napa Valley] and [Cabernet Sauvignon] are so intrinsically linked that it is difficult to discuss one without thinking of the other. Although Cabernet has many important outposts throughout the wine world, nowhere else has it achieved such success (and, at the highest end, commanded such lofty prices) than in Napa. Here, it is responsible for bold, opulent, and dark-fruited wines with grippy tannins and a healthy dose of alcohol. The best examples can age for decades. Each of Napa’s smaller sub-AVAs imparts a different character to Cabernet, such as [Rutherford’s] famous dust or [Stags Leap District's] tart cherry flavors.
