Winemaker Notes

Vibrant, deep red colour. The wine shows characteristic aromas of deep black cherry fruit with cedar and clove spiciness. Mouthfeel is full, with vibrant fruit flavours following through from the nose. The wine shows a good structure, with an approachable balance of fruit acid and supple tannins with gentle oak influence.

Critical Acclaim

ST 89
International Wine Cellar

Bright red-ruby. Superripe berries, exotic flowers, dark chocolate and woodsmoke on the nose; reminiscent of the northern Rhone. Sweet, lush and pliant in an Old World way, with savory flavors of very ripe dark fruits, dried flowers and smoke. Full but without any excess weight. Finishes with smooth tannins and sneaky length.

WS 88
Wine Spectator

This is a nice juicy, medium-weight version, with raspberry and black cherry fruit mingling with briar, tobacco and spice notes on the finish. Drink now. 6,000 cases made.

Wine Enthusiast

A rich, full nose of black fruit and spice gives this elegant Shiraz a big start. On the palate, a lovely balance of cedar, cherry, vanilla and spice, as well as measured acid and smooth tannins, give the wine food-friendly appeal. Approachable and classy.

But its wines entered the modern era with the first bottling... View More
