Winemaker Notes

The 2006 Harry's Monster is a confronting wine showcasing dark chocolate, toasted nuts, roasted meats and braised dark cherries. Complimented by Cabernet-dominant characters of blackcurrant and wild blackberries and overtones of oak. The medium weight palate follows course, with a soft, slippery but long dusty finish.

Critical Acclaim

JH 94
Australian Wine Companion

Quite serious cabernet blend, with dark savoury personality; good fruit concentration and with the oak to accompany; needs time, but is built for the long haul.

ST 90
International Wine Cellar

Toasty oak, candied cherry and cassis on the nose, in an emphatically New World key. Fleshy and sweet, offering deep dark berry flavors and building tannins. Deep, chewy and broadshouldered, with good finishing lift and surprisingly crisp red fruit qualities. A bitter cracked pepper note lingers on the close. Give this a few years to loosen up.

Wine & Spirits

A blend of cabernet sauvignon, merlot and petit verdot, this is a voluptuous red with dark cherry and pomegranate flavors filling the broad structure. One side hints at herbs, the other touches on sweetness, a velvet texture wrapping the whole. For prime rib.
