Winemaker Notes

Fruit focused, modest structure with light tannins and bright acidity. Flavors of red and blue fruits, including blueberry and cherry.

Artwork shows Dick and Nancy Daniel (original owners) planting the vineyard in 1983.

Critical Acclaim

WS 90
Wine Spectator

A zingy red, with juicy acidity behind the guava, berry and floral flavors, finishing with persistence and zip. Drink now through 2017. 901 cases made.

ST 90
International Wine Cellar

Deep, bright red. Smoky cherry and dark berries on the nose, with a touch of musky underbrush adding complexity. Sappy and nicely concentrated, offering bitter cherry, black raspberry and rose pastille flavors lifted by gentle acidity. Finishes with lingering smokiness, youthfully firm tannins and good tangy cut. Give this a little air or some more time in bottle.

Ken Wright Cellars
Located in rural Carlton, Oregon, Ken Wright Cellars is devoted to showcasing the inherent quality of selected vineyard sites. With a clarity and breadth that is unequaled by other varieties, we believe Pinot noir best expresses the character of these sites. Rather than stamping wine with a varietal trademark, Pinot noir is the ultimate vehicle for conveying the aroma, flavor and texture of the location in which it is grown.
