Winemaker Notes

Floral and spice focused. The highest natural tannins of all our sedimentary sites with briary, tobacco, and fresh-turned Earth qualities.

Artwork shows our public barrel tasting.

Critical Acclaim

WS 92
Wine Spectator

Tangy, with a live-wire backbone of acid and tannins against refined cherry, pepper and nutmeg flavors, gliding easily into the long, graceful finish. Best from 2013 through 2019.

ST 90
International Wine Cellar

Bright violet. Smoky red and dark berry scents, with notes of underbrush and dried flowers. Black raspberry and bitter cherry flavors are lifted by tangy acidity and pick up hints of charred meat and herbs with aeration. Bright and nicely concentrated wine, with very good finishing clarity and lingering herbal notes. Complex already.

Ken Wright Cellars
Located in rural Carlton, Oregon, Ken Wright Cellars is devoted to showcasing the inherent quality of selected vineyard sites. With a clarity and breadth that is unequaled by other varieties, we believe Pinot noir best expresses the character of these sites. Rather than stamping wine with a varietal trademark, Pinot noir is the ultimate vehicle for conveying the aroma, flavor and texture of the location in which it is grown.
