This Pinot Noir has a nice balance of fruit and spice. Aromas of clove and nutmeg accent the strawberry and black cherry tones. As the wine unfolds, it offers flavors of dried cranberry, black tea and toasted French oak. A burst of red fruit complements the middle palate and the wine finishes with balanced tannin. This Pinot Noir pairs well with seasonal salmon and herb roasted duck.

Located in Monterey County, on a 1850 acre parcel of calcarious soil (called "Lockwood Shaly Loam"), Lockwood Vineyard was planted in 1981, and started producing in 1989.
