Winemaker Notes
The 2020 is pale with golden touches. Elegant aromas of rockmelon yield to layers of chamomile and citrus. Beautiful prosciutto-wrapped melon, nashi pear, and fruit notes are underscored with lingering texture, mouthfeel, and linear acidity. The palate is complex, finishing with hints of wet stone minerality.
A wine to enjoy with delicate Asian flavors, seafood of all sorts or just simply by itself.

Pinot Gris is not an easy variety to get right. But this bottling, from Kim and Erica Crawford, is perfectly pitched. It’s bright and layered with fresh and not overly ripe—fruit notes of apple and pear alongside fresh fennel, lime leaf and jasmine. The palate is wonderfully textural, a balance of fleshy, tangy fruit and florals with lifted acidity. This would be a knockout with Thai or other South east Asian cuisine. And it could gain honeyed complexity with a few more years in the bottle. Drink now. Editors’ Choice.

Appealing musky pear-drop aromas lead on to a just-dry palate of juicy tinned peaches and pears. The creamy, quite weighty mouthfeel is nicely balanced by flinty mineral acidity, giving a gentle but succulent wine that would be delicious with roast pork.
